There have been many birthdays to celebrate in the Royal Family in recent weeks, and the next in line to enter a new age is Prince William, 37. The Duke of Cambridge will be turning 38 on Sunday June 21, which coincides with Father’s Day this year. However, the date is also important in terms of astrology – and it has a special significance for this particular royal.
Prince William was born in 1982 on a solar eclipse, something which is common for many royals according to astrology experts.
“An ancient saying says that ‘Kings and queens are born and die during eclipses’ and this is frequently the case, with monarchs being born either on an eclipse or around an eclipse time,” explained astrologer Natalie Delahaye.
“At a solar eclipse, there is a corona around the moon, just like a king wearing a crown.”
Natalie has a special connection to the Prince, having been asked by one of his wedding guests to create a personal horoscope for the Duke and Duchess and Cambridge as a bespoke gift.

Prince William’s last birthday eclipse was back in 2001 – which was a very important year for the young royal as he met his future wife and mother of his children.
“What was happening for William in 2001 is echoing an equally important time now. 2001 was a life changing year for Prince William, he met Kate Middleton, his future wife, whilst at St Andrew’s university,” explained Natalie.
However, it’s not just Prince William that has a link to the eclipse in his birth chart.
“They have been crowned Solstice king and Lunar queen, as Catherine was born on the lunar eclipse just six months after William, making the 2020 eclipse season a significant time of change for her too,” added Natalie.
The astrologer said this special event will mean big changes for the Duke as he turns 38.
“For William, the June 2020 Solar eclipse is a time for letting go of an old structure that is no longer relevant and creating a new set of foundations,” Natalie predicted.
“The effect of an eclipse goes on for many months after the event and for William, this will be a time for breaking old, outworn patterns, opening a new door and creating a new chapter.”
But while the stars may predict plenty of new beginnings for the senior royal, who is currently second in line to the throne, Natalie also mused that there will be a strong focus on the family.
“Occurring in the sign Cancer, which happens to be William’s Sun and Moon sign, forecasts a family-orientated time for creating new memories with his personal family, as well as the country, the homeland,” noted Natalie.
“Falling in the sign of Cancer, it is time for pouring his energies into nurturing his relationships with others.”
The expert astrologer also revealed this week that Kate has been transforming in recent years, “unleashing her power” as she prepares to one day take the throne as future queen consort.
Natalie commented that William and Kate’s charts are very interconnected too, as “they both have their Moon sign in Cancer, the most homely and nurturing sign of the zodiac”.
The solar eclipse takes place this Sunday 21 June, when Natalie will be sharing more astrology secrets as part of a virtual event for the Summer Solstice new moon eclipse, with astrologers Jessica Adams, Maggie Hyde and David Charles Rowan on YouTube.
