Mrs Hinch fan shares ‘amazing’ cleaning product that made filthy toilet look brand new

Sophie Hinchliffe is an Instagram influencer with over 3.5million followers, and is better known as Mrs Hinch. The cleaning enthusiast rose to fame after sharing daily updates of nifty tricks and hacks that she used to clean her Essex home and remove stubborn stains. Mrs Hinch has built up a loyal family of “Hinchers” who all like to join in with their latest cleaning tips.

However, after three years of trying to get the toilet clean, she has discovered a product that really works – and it’s only £6.99 on Amazon.

The ‘after’ photo showed a completely white, clean toilet bowl with none of the dark limescale whatsoever.

The fan shared pictures that showed how she got the impressive results, and explained in the caption her step-by-step instructions.

The magical transformation was all down to a single product and a toilet brush.

“As a last resort I ordered this on Amazon. Why had I not done it sooner!” the poster said, sharing a photo of the product.

She used a bottle of Kilrock Spirit of Salt to get the toilet looking good as new, a product which promises to “dissolve slime and hardwater stains”.

The product has rave reviews on Amazon, with others sharing photos of their transformed toilets.

The Hincher said she pushed as much water out as she could until it was half full, then poured some of the liquid cleaner down and shut the lid. She then left it for 20 minutes and flushed it – at which point some of the grime had already started to lift.

She then used a toilet brush to scrub at the remaining limescale to shift more of the dirt, before pouring some more liquid in.

The delighted fan said she then used the brush a little more but “without force”, and it was left completely clean.

“Didn’t think I’d be satisfied by a toilet at the age of 26 but here we are,” the Hincher joked.

However, one member of the group warned that others should be careful if they use the product.

“You need to be careful with it as it’s acid and the fumes are really bad, also wear rubber gloves as it will burn if you get it on your skin!”

The original poster said she kept the window open and followed the instructions carefully.

Another Hincher commented that a surprising dental product could do the same job if anyone struggled to buy the Spirit of Salts.

“Sterident false teeth cleaning tablets are brilliant for this too if you can’t find spirit of salts. Just drop a couple in and leave overnight,” they revealed.
