Man, 45, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder as woman rushed to hospital after ‘random attack’

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of an attempted murder after a ‘random attack’ which hospitalised a woman.

Surrey Police said the 45-year-old man was arrested after the grim attack in Warren Road, Reigate, East Surrey at about 5.40pm on Sunday.

A woman was rushed to hospital after the assault and remains in a serious condition.

Detective Sergeant Kerry Akehurst said: “We have arrested someone in connection with what appears to be a completely random attack.

“We do not believe at this time that there is any risk to any other members of the public.”

Enquiries are continuing after the arrest of the man, who is from Reigate.
