Antia asked Luke about his personal relationship with Epping Forest, explaining he has had a close connection with it since childhood.
Luke explained: “Yes and even before. A lot of my ancestors are buried in a churchyard just over there, near where we are in High Beach.”
The author explained that his parents have always lived in Loughton in Essex and that he always came to the forest when he was little.
Today, Anita and the team also spoke to a number of farmers who have been left needing government help since the coronavirus pandemic started eating into their livelihoods.
But, with the new National Nature Service trying to gain supporters, they might not be in need, for that much longer.
Countryfile continues on BBC One next Sunday at 7pm.
