While the character did return for the show’s finale, they used stock footage as Langford wasn’t available for filming.

However, the reason why Katherine couldn’t return was because she was filming her new series, Cursed.

“I think I was still filming Cursed, so I wasn’t able to go in and shoot anything,” she told Digital Spy.

“It’s funny because I haven’t fully seen season three or four – but I’m making my way through season three and watching season four now that that chapter’s closed.”

Katherine says she is still good friends with stars such as Dylan Minnette, Brandon Flynn and others, and was aware they would use old footage to film her return.

The Cheers star, 69, hopped on social media and warned her followers: “Don’t let your kids watch 13 Reasons Why…DARK so DARK and such an onslaught of the most non stop f**ked upness to come down the highschool pike since Caligula was 16.”

Due to the illustration of very mature and sensitive issues in the high school drama, Allen added that only those aged between 40-70 should be watching it.

After some fans disagreed with her point of view, Alley retaliated: “When you have kids and they’re 14 or 15 hit me back if you want them to watch a boy anally raped with a broomstick after having his head bashed in.”

She wasn’t done there as she continued her scathing attack: “13 reasons why ’13 Reasons Why’ is for an adult audience and IN MY OPINION damaging to teenagers. You needn’t agree.”
